i can definitively say that my experience with sun-burnt eyes was a lesson i will never forget.
it was the kind of idiotic mistake you only realize after the consequences hit you.
until you actually face a problem, you never truly know what you have done wrong.
how the nightmare began
in short, i accidentally burned my eyes by staring directly at the blazing midday sun.
can you imagine the intensity of looking straight into the sun at 12 PM?
that is exactly what I did.
I did not look for too long—perhaps somewhere around five minutes—but it was more than enough time for my eyes to be “scorched” by the sun’s rays.
the immediate aftermath
when I looked at anything yellow, the color would instantly shift to red or orange-red.
i panicked, desperately hoping it was only temporary.
however, the situation dragged on longer than i had anticipated.
it took about a week for my vision to correctly recognize red, orange, and yellow again.
but then, a new, horrifying problem arose.
blue and green appeared as grey.
my heart skipped several beats as i stared in disbelief.
i blinked repeatedly, but nothing improved.
a wave of self-anger washed over me, fearing i might be stuck with this vision forever.
making matters worse, these affected colors would continuously shift and mutate when placed next to each other.
i felt like my brain was struggling just to identify basic colors.
the final update
two days later, the situation did not seem to be getting better.
i still struggled to recognize blue, green, and purple when looking at my desktop or laptop screen.
sometimes, those colors would vanish completely, turning into a desolate grey.
fortunately, after one week, i could finally perceive most of the colors on my screen again, and they were all vibrant.
this was definitely a “scared for life” experience.
i have been there, i have done it, and you absolutely should not.
